Somehow I got on a list to receive emails from Losing It with Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser. Here's a Tip of the Day from her:
This Week's Challenge: Take Control of Your Eating
This week I'm going to ask you some questions to help you pinpoint the psychological and emotional reasons behind your unhealthy eating. Today's question is "When I'm upset, how do I cope?" Do you reach for a slice of pie, or do you take a relaxing bath? Find healthy ways to unwind and pamper yourself instead of indulging in food. Then you'll feel refreshed and rejuvenated — not overstuffed and still stressed.
It gave me a few things to mull over!
And Jen, who are you rooting for on American Idol? I'm watching it on Sony here on TVCable and so I'm a week behind. But there are some good choices this season!
And don't be discouraged girls - hang in there - the same discipline that helped you lose those first pounds will help you keep going!
And as my husband has often said to me: "Why do you weigh yourself so often? It doesn't really matter what the actual pounds are, but rather how you're looking, how your clothes are fitting and if you looked toned, fit, etc. So don't put so much weight in what the scale says!" (no pun intended).
I used to be addicted to getting on the scale! But he's right, one pound one way or the other tended to either make me super excited or super discouraged (and then get me eating wrong things again)! Not that I'm telling you not to weigh yourselves, etc. but just a reminder that yes, it's healthy changes that we're all looking for - changes that will stick with us and be a lifestyle (rather than just another pound less on the scale!).
