First - just want to say hi to Kristin! I've been wondering how you're doing! Congratulations on William's birth. Check out our blog to get info on Nathan's birth (and see photos) . . . www.thearteagafamily.blogspot.com. He came on Dec. 25 (yes, Christmas Day) and had surgery for congenital diaphragmatic hernia two days later. I have wanted to tell you how grateful we are that you recommended Dr. Jijon to me for OB/GYN - he has been great. But even more so, his brother, Dr. Javier Jijon, was our pediatrician who "happened" to be a specialist in neo-natal intensive care. God used you to lead us to just the doctor Nathan needed! Isn't that cool!
Anyways - I wanted to mention that I've been working hard to input what I eat into the calorie counter on FitDay. I am finding it very useful to give me a good hard look at what I'm eating. . . WAY TOO MUCH FAT (like 40% daily -UGH!)! I don't think I ever realized what I have been really putting into my mouth. I definitely need to make some major changes in what I'm eating. Which means more fruits and veggie (the obvious) and a lot less fat and carbs.
And yes, this is obvious - but easier said than done for me. I must admit that I struggle with eating fruits and vegetables, which is ridiculous considering that I live in a country where they are abundant and cheap, with lots of variety. So I need to work in this area.
This is my first time ever taking a look at my calorie intake and I'm finding it really does help me to think before I put food into my mouth . . .
So I have a question:
Can someone explain the difference, advantages, disadvantages of counting calories vs. doing the point system from Weight Watchers?
Thanks!
Ruth
