Ruth, you made me miss Ecuador with that description of everyday life. You're right, there is never a dull moment. I have had a cold all week, so I haven't worked out, except for last Monday when I weighed in. I don't want to push myself while sick, but I also think I was a bit discouraged from the weigh-in. Now, of course since I haven't worked out, I feel even bigger than ever, even though I'm still sticking with my points I think. Ruth, you're right, we put way too much stock in what the scale says. It is so silly. Someday I'm going to challenge myself to diet without weighing myself for at least a month or so. Then again, at the end of the month if I hadn't lost weight, then I'd REALLY be mad.
Thanks for the running encouragement Jen. It does feel good to be running again. There is a 5K race in our neighborhood this fall sometime, and I think that'll be my goal, to get fast for that. Oh, and Ruth, I laughed out loud at that thing from the biggest loser about making healthy choices when we are unhappy....I think all of us moms would LOVE to take a hot bath, but when a kid (or 2 or 3) is whining or screaming in our ears, sometimes the slice of pie is the only thing that buys some temporary relief!!!!!!!!!!! :) I totally agree with the principal though, of finding a way to deal with our emotions other than eating. It's hard.
So, I won't be posting next week since I'm leaving Tuesday morning for Washington state to visit my brother who just had a baby last Sunday (well, his girlfriend did). My mom and I are taking the kids out there, and as far as stressful trips go, it will probably be second only to moving back from Quito last year at this time. I'm really excited though, so keep us in your prayers. The stress alone should take off about 5 lbs. I'm hoping :). I hope you all had a great Easter. I didn't even get to go to church because William was sick and sleeping, and he cries the whole time in the nursery anyway, so I spend the whole time there comforting him. Of course the day after I bought the tickets for Washington, we all came down with colds...never fails. Ok, have a great week ladies, and keep up the awesome work!!! You're the workout queen Jen, and I want to know what you ate to feel full on 850 calories! That's insane.
